Guest Review from Kris and Rick of Palos Park, IL

Every suite at the mansion and carriage house has a journal for our guests to share their experiences. And each book captures the history our guests have created in their lives, with Vrooman Mansion as the backdrop.

Book History is our new online series where we highlight a guest experience in their own words alongside the overnight suite and details that helped them form new memories and new history in their lives.

When you stay with us, read the chronicles of previous guests. Laugh with them. Share in their surprises, their awe, their personal reflection, and their wishes for the future. Get to know the lives of others, one page at a time. Then grab a pen and share your story.

Guest Review from Kris & Rick in Palos Park, IL

Kris and Rick from Palos Park created historic moments in their story by celebrating their retirement and 38th wedding anniversary in the Carl Vrooman Suite. Their handwritten thoughts pictured above are transcribed below:

“What a fantastic overnight stay! This is our 2nd stay at your amazing B&B, rich in history and character. Thank you for keeping the Vrooman family alive – we love learning and living the history and traditions.

Your hospitality and accommodations are unbeatable. The rooms are impeccable, with all of the special touches and little extras. Breakfast was out-of-this-world!

Thank you for spoiling us and sharing your beautiful B&B. Being a graduate of ISU, we have our traditional lunch at Avanti’s and then tried Epiphany Farms for dinner-delicious! I have just retired from my teaching career (trying to get my husband to slow down as well), so we were here to celebrate my retirement and our 38th wedding anniversary.

We are anxious to bring our ISU friends back here with us to make new memories. Sounds like the Christmas season here is magical. Can’t wait to try it!”

The Carl Vrooman Suite

Kris and Rick stayed in the Carl Vrooman Suite on the second floor of the mansion which has a queen-sized bed, an attached sitting room with a pull-out couch and vintage window bench overlooking the gardens, plus private bath with a clawfoot tub.
