Guest Review from Venice, Florida

“As a former resident of Bloomington, I was aware of this Mansion, but never thought I’d ever see the inside, let alone stay here! Having stayed at B&Bs before I must say that NONE compare to the Vrooman!

The attention to details, the accommodations & the breakfast were all beyond what I would have imagined. Pam is a wonderful hostess and Nicole served our delicious breakfast with friendly conversation.

I hope to gift a stay here to my son who grew up in Bloomington. This is the place I am going to recommend to everyone I know.

Thank you for a wonderful EXPERIENCE!! We’ll be back.”

Letitia’s Suite

Peggy and Ray chose to stay in Letitia’s Suite which is a two room suite on the 2nd floor of the mansion, with a Queen sized bed, pullout sofa sleeper and walk-in tiled shower. The opulent purple colors make you feel like historic royalty.

Letitia’s Suite is a special place to stay, perfect for people who like charming and unique accommodations. It’s named after the sister of the original owner, Julia Scott and is adorned in purple accents. The room is beautifully decorated with old-fashioned items including a peacock tapestry, vintage clothing and hats, and a collection of hatpins. The queen sized oak bed and marble top dresser add to this majestic decor.

Next to the main room, there’s a private sitting room where you can relax. It has a comfortable sofa bed, and an armoire with a television. The rooms face west, so it’s nice and quiet if you want to sleep in. But be careful, the delicious smell of breakfast might make it hard to stay in bed!

Each overnight suite at the Mansion and Carriage House come with their own private bathroom. Letitia’s private bath is attached to the main bedroom and boasts a luxurious walk-in shower with a special rain shower head and body sprays. It feels like stepping back in time but with modern things to make your stay comfortable.

Who is Letitia?

The mansion was once owned by Julia and Scott Green. The Greens had a daughter named Julia who later married Carl Vrooman, which is how the mansion got its namesake.

Julia Scott also had a sister named Letitia, which this suite is named after. But who was Letitia Green Stevenson?
