18th annual fundraiser for student scholarships and the Child
Development Lab will feature a horse racing theme at the Double Tree by
Hilton The fun begins when attendees
will wager “Heartland Bucks” on four feature races and convert their
winnings into raffle tickets for fabulous prizes!

Bloomington Kiwanis Peanut Days

The Bloomington Kiwanis Club will hold their annual Peanut Days
fundraiser to raise funds for the Club s signature project, Camp Limberlost. Each
summer, since 1930, Bloomington Kiwanis sends approximately 100 eight to
ten year olds who have been identified by their teachers as children
who would benefit from a camping experience. Bloomington Kiwanis Club members dressed in orange safety vests and blue
Kiwanis aprons will be collecting donations at several off-street
locations, including Cub Foods, Jewel-Osco, Schnucks, and Wal-Mart. This
year, they will also be at seven McDonald s Drive Through locations in
Bloomington-Normal from 3:30 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th and
Friday, September 7th. Donors will receive a complimentary bag of
peanuts.Kiwanis members still plan on being at the following intersections
Thursday, September 6th and Friday, September 7th, during drive time:
Raab and Towanda, Linden and Shelbourne, Vernon and Grandview, Cottage
and College and Adelaide and Hovey.  The Bloomington Kiwanis Club was formed in 1920 and has had many local
community and business leaders as members and officers through the
years. It is part of Kiwanis International, a service organization
whose mission is to change the world, one community and one child at a
