Day trips can include exploring some of Bloomington-Normal’s museums ( the McClean County Museum of History is one of our favorites) or stimulate your creative side with some time at Artful Design, where you can paint your own pottery. If you’d like to spend some time inspired by art, stop by the gallery at Illinois State, which has an amazing group exhibit about the mysteries and militarization of space running through Feb. 16, 2020. At night the community players is showing “Our Town” through Jan. 19 and the shows resume in March with “Big Fish.” Also, on Friday, Feb. 7 bring your sweet tooth as downtown comes alive with the popular Tour de Chocolat’ from 5 – 8 pm. This annual night always warms you up, no matter what the mercury may say. And upon returning back, your warm room awaits you.
